Mr. Levy manages a Construction and Development practice group at Smith Freed Eberhard emphasizing the representation of developers, contractors, and design professionals in construction disputes.
He has been handling construction disputes since 1993 and his experience also includes insurance coverage, business, environmental and real estate law. Mr. Levy also conducts training on litigation and risk management.
Relevant Cases
Mr. Levy has been at the forefront of construction defect trials in Oregon. Among them, he tried Oregon’s first multi-party, multi-building construction defect case to a very favorable jury verdict as well as the first condo-conversion jury trial in Oregon to a defense verdict. His expertise in “building envelope” water intrusion claims – roofing, decking, windows, siding, and insurance coverage for those claims – is also reflected in a variety of continuing education coursework he has prepared for legal, construction, and insurance professionals.

Mr. Levy is the author of the Multnomah County, Oregon Referee Program for Construction Disputes and is the coordinator of the Oregon State Bar Construction Law Section’s Construction Brown Bag CLE series. He has written and presented on a variety of insurance and construction coverage issues for CE and CLE credit and is the editor of Smith Freed Eberhard’s Construction Defect Law Summary.
