On October 5, 2016 at the McMenamins Kennedy in Portland, Oregon, the Oregon Chapter of the International Association of Special Investigation Units will host its annual fraud conference. Partner Katie Buxman and Associate CJ Martin will be presenting a break-out session “This Call May Be Recorded: Using EUOs and Recorded Statements in Suspicious First and Third Party Claims,” which will cover:

  • How to get good answers in EUOs and recorded statements – asking the right questions and other best practices
  • An overview of Oregon law around EUOs and recorded statements and the specific nuances of Oregon law to watch out for (especially when the EUO is conducted by video)
  • How to determine whether or not an EUO should be requested
  • Examples of EUOs gone wrong and what we can learn from them
