Tate is an Associate Attorney at Smith Freed Eberhard and his practice primarily focuses on Commercial Liability Defense.
Prior to SFE, Tate’s legal career began working on insurance coverage issues and insurance defense. During his time practicing workers’ compensation law, Tate demonstrated a strong commitment to his clients in workers’ compensation law, achieving numerous successful settlements.
In law school, Tate wrote an article which critiques the Clean Air Act, arguing that it fails to address regional climate differences and perpetuates environmental injustice. He advocates for granting local governments greater autonomy to enforce the Act, enabling them to tailor solutions that combat air pollution and address localized environmental inequities more effectively.
Tate enjoys going to different sporting events around Seattle as well as exploring the different parts of the city. He enjoys traveling, both around Washington and around the world. Tate is also a big reader.
Tate grew up in Tri-Cities, Washington and moved to Seattle for college. He loved the city so much, he never left.
